Travelling from the South, the best route is to come up the
M74, then follow the M73 – M80 – M9 towards (but
not into) Stirling. Leave the M9 at Exit 10 for Callander,
following the A84 and joining the A82 at Crianlarich, heading
towards Fort William.
Seven miles before Fort William, after crossing the bridge
at Ballachulish, take the short crossing on the Corran Ferry
to Ardgour. The Corran Ferry crosses every half hour (more
regularly at peak times), the last crossing being at 9.30pm
(21.30 hours) in summer and winter. Turn left off the ferry,
follow the A861 through Strontian to Salen. At Salen turn
left along the B8007 for 11 miles along the shore of Loch
Sunart to Ardslignish, four miles (3 cattle grids) west of
Glenborrodale. The approximate travelling time from Ardgour
to Ardslignish is 1 hour.
From the north, take the A82 south of Fort William to the Corran
Ferry and then as above. An alternative route is to take the A830
to Lochailort, then the A861 to Salen, this time turning right on
to the B8007 and then proceeding as above.
